They are series of drawings titled “Words into Images” and they are a result of how novel reading affected my visual vocabulary. These drawings are a result of capturing the moment when words got translated into images. Some of them are more surreal as a creative process is fluid and using drawing enabled me to capture moments when images rattling in my head found its place by transposing them onto a paper. Triffid and Tank capture the structure of the creatures invented by John Wyndham and We are dead captures the moment in the “1984” by G. Orwell which stroke me the most within the whole story.
Triffid – my interpretation of a triffid look based on the book of John Wyndham “The Day of the Triffids”.
Tank – An artistic idea of a triffid based on the book of John Wyndham “The Kraken wakes”.
Surreal I – A drawing is loosely based on Lewis Carroll “Alice‘s Adventures in Wonderland” .
Surreal II – A drawing loosely based on books by John Wyndham “The Kraken wakes”, “Tin Drum” Gunter Grass and “Alice‘s Adventures in Wonderland” Lewis Carroll.
We are dead – A drawing based on the book by George Orwell “1984”. Illustrates the moment when main characters — Winston and Julia realise that they are being observed by the thought police.
