… recent artwork takes its genesis from a simplifying of visual aesthetics and reduction of colour palette: black, silver, white, to an interest in the poster as art and to the use of the wall as an aesthetic force in its own right; employing the fragmented narrative transience held within the wall to inform memory and sentiment.

With an intent to examine the appropriation and juxtaposition of type and image, the use of public information signage, “dead space” and the urban environment; consolidating and applying the mediums of printmaking, stencil, the street arts and the modes and techniques of mass communication to the concept of the personal and to its relationship to the societal, exploring the abstraction of cheap novelties and neglected flotsam and to the emotional attachment and sense of affection such items and keepsakes can command; to the abandoned and half buried emotive remains of the personal: to anticipation, melancholy and loss.
