I’m forced to live to validate them
Saturday at the latest, because to be radical is
I’d be in good company breaking bread
with those witnesses to beauty and trash
you’d think it was good for the soul,
I have to live to prove
plain, ugly, improbable things,
and always to follow the rainbow
to the empty field,
in cavernous old age,
contemplating imaginary stars
