New Clear Vision I & New Clear Vision II is a set of serigraphs that reflect my changing view of Europe. #I is a solemn look at Europe’s past. #II is a enthusiastic look into Euroopppa’s future.

I spent a period of my childhood living in England and Germany and holidaying in other European countries. My Dad was a military officer who shared his passion for military history, so we would often visit battlefields. I was a child where threat of nuclear war was a usual a topic around the dinner table. So, I grew up with a view of post war Europe that is reflected by peasants toiling in the fields doing inane tasks (New Clear Vision I).

My new personal view of Euroopppa is full of potential and a new found energy. The Wall being down, the Channel, and the Euro have added a new twist to the mix. While I am aware that my personal view is naive I am now looking forward to Europe’s future that is reflected by the potential energy stored in the archer’s bow (New Clear Vision II).
