Waving wind-farm arms
Push out-of-it clouds over the fields.
Fields of wool, of steak, of pig iron
Of saddle sore mounts,
Of animal husbandry,
Enclosures of rape.
Ammonia sheds with eggs and thighs
Legs, winged breasts, oyster clefts
A flock of upside down chickens
On a single file wire.
Feathers in mortar, egg-bound bone ash
A ready meal of bone meal
Hoof and horn, slaked lime dust-bath
Dewdrop pools in guano saucers.
The desert hawk blesses her lips
With his undercarriage
In white excremental excitement
Tight in mummy’s bandage.
Emptied out falcons Horus and Ra
With side jars of heart and lung
Liver and lights, bird haggis
Standing stones of salt.
Moonlit wind-farm arms
Body-surf clouds over the bull-rushed delta.
