I believe that when the subject is in a state of addiction they are occupying a space of half-existence, consumed by the addiction they are not inhabiting their space in reality fully. In this series I aimed to present an air of separation between the viewer and the subject. So when the viewer is observing they feel like the subject they are looking at is inhabiting a space that is not quite here, in a sort of imprisoned limbo, which is the nature of addiction.
