Struttura Precaria/Precarious structure: Installation (iron, ambiental dimension) 2011

I think that the precariousness, or the condition that makes background to our contemporaneity, can be –in reality– interpreted as a mask that hides our real being, our life, our potentialities. I have tried to make also this concept to formal level, in the work that I have sent you, where this vital aspect (light) filters through a series of “barriers” and precarious structures (iron plates).

“Precariousness has been conceptualized traditionally in terms of temporality, without a doubt, precariousness is not something that happens, but a vulnerability that is imposed on us, its the penetration of fear. This is the basic dimension of being precarious: the internalization of the fear. The precariousness configurates and transforms the same act of living. This permanent vulnerability produces the maximum benefits for capital. For that reason we have to think that precariousness will persist and it will change –in fact already it has-, as a precarious being, into a structural category of the capitalist system in the age of the globalization.”
