We’re filled with fears and some confront them, some don’t… I prefer zooming in on them, facing them.
These images are my fears within visually exaggerated portraits that drag out all the phobias we actually sneakily live… most of the time our phobia’s are just the confrontation with the truth.
And a truth we maybe handle better having over passed reality, which now seems not so bad at all.
One of the greatest fears I have is our deformation, be it because of alcohol, drugs, smoking, aging and just living, for we have no other option… be it the ugliness one builds up inside and thus starts deforming us creatures on the outside. That what we can’t keep on the inside no more. Our daily masquerade, where we feel forced to keep up appearances… Human beings that will succumb by themselves in the end. And be it me, speaking my mind through these faces. Be it above all the fear of people not knowing how you actually feel. And in these times I don’t see that getting any better soon.
