L’autoroute des Reves 2010

The A26 motorway in France also known as lʼautoroute des Anglais is a 394 km motorway connecting Calais and Troyes. The road is the first impression of France that most British visitors get to the country. It is the main road used by “francophiles”, and as such has significant cultural and environmental importance with the relationship between France and the U.K.

Traveling on the A26 at 70mph Photographs are taken that capture glimpses or traces of human existence.

On a journey that has been made 54 times in a lifetime the observer can become encapsulated between varying notions of reality.

Are the passing impressions of life we see just a glimpse of past memories, optical illusions or forced fantasy?
