“Reflection” installation was part of my solo exhibition titled “Persona, Impression & Reflection – a Theory about Portraiture” held in gallery Titanik in Turku (Finland) in May 2012. The gallery space was divided into three named rooms, each having a different perspective toward portrait art. The last one, called “Picture” had only the Reflection installation in it.
The Reflection interprets the behavior of a human being reflecting self onto surfaces, objects and subjects. The picture is never fully clear as the viewers’ identity (in Reflection the viewer’s own reflection) always has an impact on how the person interprets a seen object. When observing an object from a different point of view, something new is revealed, yet what was seen before is now hidden.
