From organ to organic
In those drawings, a sort of rebellion, invasion of the Nature appears. More precisely, the vegetation subjects to what it endures itself at the human body, this same body that is at the origin of much devastation. This irruption is kind of a reversed situation.
The cacti impose themselves through their potentially aggressive and ferocious aspect.
The work in shades of grey allows me to easily access to an uncluttered and almost clinical result.
The squared format is a subterfuge to confine the sight of the spectator at the heart of the drawing. Plus the absence of colors linked to the vegetation’s symbol is a supplementary way to make appear the uneasiness, the embarrassment and also the irony that I like to arouse from the one that look at it.
Title of the work : Cactus Irruption
Technique : Graphite on paper, 37 x 37 cm
