Killer Jeans. It sounds like an advertisement, but is about the bleaching agent used in the manufacturing of jeans in Turkey causing silicosis, a fatal disease that claims the lives of hundreds of young textile workers. The silica sand used in this industry accumulated in the lungs soon leadsto irreversible damage. This problem has become a new topic in the international media. It has also found its way into the ecological crisis discourse as an example of the extreme imbalance between the current level of civilization and the value of human life.
