Genealogy is a generative programmatic artwork. Once launched, the program runs eternally, letting grow as time goes by primal civilizations represented under a schematized shape, following a set of simple but strict rules.
Allegorical functioning:
In the starting up, some tribes are randomly placed in a virgin world. Each of the individuals is going to grow and to age. Once adults, the men look for a woman with whom they are going to have children and so to immortalize the species. If there are not enough women in their tribe, they try to find one in the closest tribe. When an individual die, a small shape persists in the world, in the place which they occupied. When a tribes gets too close of another one, the tension between them increases and a war explodes. The world fills up little by little, until it becomes unable to welcome new individuals. Once this stage reached, the civilization collapse and a new one starts.
The images presented here are snapshots realized at the end of a civilization.
