“I am lost and alone seeking God,” said the man. “Do not harm me.”
Before fish and birds and crawling things were given their names.
The demons had heard the man crying out to God.
And God left Man to solve the riddle and in the riddle there were perilous things.
And God did many other mysterious things that only His mind can fathom.
They consumed not just his flesh but his despair and longing.
Their visage was that of the wolf, for that was how the man had seen them.
The wolves were neither like demons nor like men.
And they were filled with loneliness and despair.
And they drifted like smoke upon the earth.
