The focus of my art practice explores the value we invest in domestic spaces and possessions and how these can capture the passing of time and the layering of memory and experience. I am inspired by environments and objects that contain traces of history and simultaneously convey absence and presence. Often these spaces also contain a sense of mystery and the uncanny or obscure. My work investigates ideas about home and identity. I view interior spaces as physical, emotional and psychological spaces combined. In this particular series of collages I have explored the relationship between interior&exterior, private&public, past&present and 2D&3D spaces by combining found images from books depicting a number of British stately homes and my own photographs of domestic interiors.
