I used my hand
To shield my eyes
And looked to yonder
Smoking skies
The far off mountains
Growing day by day
Were rapidly advancing
And coming to my way
They were not of rock
And stone
But plastic bags
And rotting bone

This cosmic planet
Once a verdant green
Was now a rubbish bin
Foul, unclean
The sower of detritus
Was its occupier
Man
