In my work, I try to question ideas related to social and political utopias, showing a vision of contrast between the imagined and the possible. Europe’s current situation shows a fracture between what was envisioned as the future, and what the future actually became.

The Gateway Series is a series of 12 black and white photographs that show a display of fiberglass swimming pools for sale in a suburb near Lisbon, Portugal. In this particular location of the country, due to the proximity of the seaside, it is very usual to see swimming pool displays along roadside in a way of advertising for warehouses nearby. It is also a way of captivating the attention of the driver for the diversity of swimming pools that can be found in this area.
