The images presented are part of the Landscape Installation ‘Pele’s Love Volcano Series’. The series was shot on location at the ever erupting Eternal Fire Pit Halemaumau Crater atop Mt Kilauea, Hawaii’s massive active Volcano, home to the mythical Pele. Legends abound for this Fire being, but the true nature of Pele is only yet beginning to reveal itself. She is the protector and guide throughout the Lands of Hawaii. Her present abode is Mount Kilauea Volcano, a truly unique place as it is one of only a few true hotspots on the planet. While lava from most volcanos is fairly shallow, the Hawaiian lava comes from deep within the core of the earth. The Hawaiian Lands are ever forming, the place where the Earth continually creates or renews itself and from this the ancient Honua and Ka Piko oka Hawaiian legends originate. To the Hawaiians Mount Kilauea is a sacred site known as ‘Ka Piko oka’ — Navel of the World or ‘Honua’ — Where the gods began Creation. Robin Hood travels to Hawaii to meet Pele and learn more of the Earth’s Creation and to help her unveil the 5th World, the way of the heart.
